Thursday, March 8th, 2018 – Grenadian Attorney, Ruggles Ferguson, former president of the Grenada Bar Association, was elected president of the Organisation of Commonwealth Caribbean Bar Associations (OCCBA).

He was elected at the organization’s biannual meeting, held in Miami Florida, on the weekend. As part of its mandate, OCCBA seeks to promote greater access to justice, promote the rule of law and defend and promote human rights issues, and also ensure that the administration of justice throughout the region is done in accordance with the law.

In an exclusive interview with MikeyLive, Ferguson said that public education will be a crucial aspect of his presidency. He said he intends to bring the region’s bar associations together.
