OCCBA EXTENDS CONDOLONCES TO THE BARBADOS BAR ON THE PASSING OF EZRA ALLEYNE

OCCBA extends deepest condolences to the Barbados Bar Association (BBA) on the passing of well-known Attorney Ezra Alleyne on Sunday (July 10th) at the age of 78.

We note that Mr. Alleyne was an Attorney of long standing having been admitted to practice in Barbados more than fifty (50) years ago.  He has contributed significantly to several areas of public life, including as an elected Member of Parliament and as a disciplined and consistent commentator, through his widely read newspaper columns and otherwise, on matters touching and concerning politics, law and related issues.

Upon his success at the polls in 1976, he became the youngest serving member of the House of Assembly at the age of 32.  We also note Mr Alleyne’s contribution to the molding of succeeding generations of lawyers as a lecturer at the Cave Hill Campus, University of the West Indies.

We convey, through the BBA, our heartfelt sympathies to his wife, children and extended family.  May he rest in perfect peace!
